To stir up the Faith of Our Nation and World
Faith Convention presents the challenges of our day urging believers to stand for course of CHRIST
Our Story
Discover Our Journey So Far
In September 1981, while in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, God spoke to Rev Yaw Owusu Achaw to start a fellowship Faith Convention. This was unique such that it had not been heard of anywhere. gather Spirit-filled ministers who will encourage the body of Christ into faith. The faith level at the time in Ghana was very low. Indigenous ministry or missionary activity outside the country was very limited. It took the initiative of foreign ministers and missionaries to visit Ghana to have crusades or conventions in Ghana. Whatever crusade we saw and had and participated in was purely from an American or European background. So the Holy Spirit challenged Rev. Yaw Owusu Achaw and gave him the name Faith Convention to spark faith in God’s people in Ghana. To reach out to God to be used in faith just like he was using any other people in any other country, especially from North America. That God is no respecter of persons and that in every nation, including Africa in Ghana, they that do righteous and are accepted by God. After returning to Ghana Rev Yaw Owusu Achaw reached out to his dear friend who is gone to be with the Lord Rev Gregory Ola Akin and shared the vision with him to set aside at least a week and gather ministers of God and believers to emphasize faith as our subject, as our teaching and spark up the faith of God’s people. For without faith, it is impossible to please God. he bought into this vision and within three months the first Faith convention was held in December 1981 at the Christ Apostolic Church behind Revoly Cinema. And it was miraculous! The Lord moved so powerfully in that seven-day conference. The sick were brought in from hospitals, and the terminally ill were carried to the grounds, we ran two services that week and we saw the Salvation, Healing and Deliverance of the Lord. The Christ Apostolic Church was so full we could have over 5000 people seated outside. People came in two hours, three hours ahead of time because of the hunger for God. So much so that the next convention went from seven days to fourteen days, and the next convention to 21 days and 42 services amid a typical rainy season the rain never once stopped any service. Faith Convention was and is a great move of God that Rev Opuni of the Assemblies of God testified that “no has to tell you to close up your church during June – July your members will naturally be at the Faith Convention”. The convention pulled pastors and believers from all over Ghana and even beyond Africa. And God has continued this wonderous movement for over Four decades even to date.

The Faith Convention Executive Board
Faith Convention is not led by a single church or ministry as it seeks to unite God’s ordained minister in faith to stir up faith in believers today.
